Living From Righteousness

I woke up this morning with this overwhelming thought on my mind:

As those who are covered with the blood of Christ;

as the forgiven and redeemed Children of God;

as those who are clothed in Christ’s holiness,

we do NOT live our lives striving to become righteous by putting off sin and warring against the flesh.

Instead, we take our stand on the firm foundation that we already are righteous and then choose to not give that up by bowing down to temptation.

We have authority over sin and the Enemy, given to us as citizens of Heaven and Ambassadors of the King of the Universe, and unless we willingly bow the knee to temptation and the Devil, there is nothing that can compromise our position.

In the words of my Pastor, Josh Green, ” You don’t have to sin! You sin because you want to sin.”

We are free to not give up what Christ has given us if we only value it enough.

Make the decision today to live your life FROM righteousness. Not striving for it.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” -2 Corinthians 5:17-21
