May ’15 Update

What a crazy few months this has been. Let me first off begin by apologizing to you, my prayer-warriors, supporters, and encouraging friends, for my lack of communication over the last few months. With so much transition in my life going on, it is hard to even know where to begin with this update.

Perhaps I’ll start with the biggest transition of my life…

I met Elizabeth Dills online in October of 2013. We had our first date on November 20th, and have been growing closer every day since. She and her 5 year old daughter, Marley, have become the loves of my life, and I can’t imagine moving ahead in life without them.

Today marks our one month anniversary, and it has been the happiest month of my life. Thank you to everyone who came out for the wedding or sent us cards and gifts. For those who have yet to meet my new bride, I can’t wait to introduce you as well.

The second big transition right now is that as of June 1, I have resigned from my position with Heart of God International Ministries to pursue the leading of God in my life.

Through the process of clarifying direction and ministry focus, and with a ton of prayer, my wife and I have decided to take the next step in ministry through the formation of a new evangelistic organization called Sozo Ministries.

Now, before you ask, this situation is a good one. Contrary to what happens many times in Christian ministries, this is not a divisive exit. There are no hurt feelings or damaged relationships. We still love, pray for, and support the work each organization is doing while maintaining friendships and mutual respect for the gifts and callings God has for both HGIM and Sozo Ministries.

Formed in partnership with my friend and fellow minister, Bobby Mann, Sozo has been incorporated with the state of Texas as a charitable organization, and is currently in the application phase with the IRS for 501(c)3 non-profit status.

Our goals for this new ministry are three-fold: to preach the gospel to the lost, to equip the saved for the work of ministry, and to cultivate a culture of prayer for revival among the nations.
You can find out more about this new ministry on the website, or like and follow us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram (@SozoMinistries).

To those of you who have faithfully supported me in my missionary ventures in the past, I want to say a BIG “Thank You!” All of the incredible things the Lord has done over the past few years have only been possible because of your faithful support, and I want you to know that it is not over yet.

As I transition into this new ministry, my hope is that you will come along with me. I still need your prayer and your financial help to do what the Lord is calling me to do.
As always, you can find my donation information on my personal website,

For those of you who give a recurring donation that auto-drafts every month, you will need to re-initiate those gifts as well. The new Sozo giving platform allows you to choose which day of the month you would like your gift to be drafted, and if you are willing to use a bank account transfer over a credit/debit card, it will also save us on the fees we pay.
